Biografie
Componenta: Mike Shinoda, Chester Bennington, Brad Delson, Phoenix, Joe Hahn, Rob Bourdon.
“Cea mai mare greseala pe care o fac unii este aceea de a spune ca suntem doar o trupa de rockâ€, spune chiaristul de la Linkin Park, Brad Delson.
“Noi consideram muzica noastra un hibrid a ceea ce am ascultat noi sase de-a lungul timpului. Titlul albumului nostru de debut, “Hybrid Theory†este de fapt numele pe care voiam sa-l purtam ca trupa si este rezultatul a sase moduri de a intelege muzica si a sase personalitati artistice distincte.â€
Linkin Park inseamna rock, hip-hop, electronic, rock alternativ. Cei sase membri ai trupei sunt originari din sudul Californiei. Ideea trupei a aparut intr-un mic dormitor al vocalistului Mike Shinoda, unde acesta impreuna cu Delson au inregistrat primul material, in 1996. Cei doi fusesera colegi de scoala. Acolo l-au intilnit si pe bateristul Rob Bourbon. Shinoda l-a racolat pe DJ Joseph Hahn in timpul studiilor la Art Center College in Pasadena. Delson l-a adus pe bassistul Phoenix care a parasit trupa dupa colegiu, dar s-a intors dupa un an. Ultima piesa a trupei a fost vocalistul Chester Bennington, din Arizona, care facea inregistrari de la 16 ani. “Cind aveam doi ani, ma pasiona ce cintau Foreigner. De cnd am invatat sa vorbesc, spuneam tuturor ca voi deven cintaret“, isi aminteste Bennington.
“Desi stilurile noastre sunt diferite, am incercat ca sound-ul sa fie natural, sa nu fie fortat - asta inseamna sa ai identitate ca trupaâ€, declara bassistul Phoenix.
Influentele vin de la Deftones, Nine Inch Nails, Aphex Twin si The Roots.
“Vrem ca totul sa sune unitar. Inregistram totul intr-un computer pentru a putea sa fie bine integrate partile digitale si cele live. Petrecem ore intregi in studio mixind si aranjind totul astfel incit sa obtinem cele mai bune combinatiiâ€, marturiseste Shinoda.
